Inflatable Halloween Decorations

For much of the last 100 years, Halloween has been thought of as primarily a children’s holiday where kids could get dressed up in costumes and go door to door and be rewarded with candy for having unique costumes and gags. Today, Halloween has taken on many new angles because technology is playing a large part in the holiday.

Now, adults have their part in the festivities and inflatable yard decorations show the passion and love of the day.

Inflatable Motorcycle Skeleton

What’s really unique about the inflatable Halloween decorations of today is that any hobby or theme can be displayed and woven into the theme of the homeowner. For example, if you are passionate about motorcycles, you could pick an inflatable yard decoration that depicts a skeleton riding a motorcycle with a huge grin on his face.

Or, if you are into horses, an inflatable grim reaper on his horse would do the job quite nicely. You get my drift. During the Halloween season, your house can look like a scary shrine to all that you love. O.K. A bit over the top but you understand. Halloween inflatables can make things seem bigger then life.

Below are some of the inflatable Halloween yard decorations I found fascinating in the search for a great looking yard. Have fun and start thinking about what your yard is going to look like for this coming Halloween season!

Inflatable Black Cat

Scary Black Cat

Seven Foot Inflatable Black Cat
This Halloween season, buy a large inflatable black cat to keep everyone’s spine tingling when they come ‘trick or treating’ to your door. This seven foot blow up comes with a motor that when turned on, blows the decoration up as necessary. The weatherproof nylon stands up to the outdoors so you can have years of fun with your decoration. Be mindful of the size cat you want because there is a twelve foot inflatable black cat on the market. If you are having a very large event, a very large yard ornament may be better suited. Both cats are standing with an arched back and a tail that is straight up in the air. The eyes are glowing with internal LED lights to give it a very scary affect.

Inflatable Ghosts In a Hearse

Ghosts in a Hearse
Did you want to take a ride along with these fellows on Halloween night? The problem is, if you did, you may not get back. With their special holiday around the corner, these dudes have one thing in mind and that is to make the night as ghoolish as possible. You will never forget the scene of these ghosts and hooded skeletons riding in a Hearse that is lit up from the inside. The product states that you simply plug in the inflatable and it is ready to go!

The inflatable ghosts in a Hearse yard decoration would be great for any Halloween party or event where you want to be the talk of the funeral home directors local 100! Ha!

Big Inflatable Monster

Inflatable Green Monster
We all know who this large green inflatable monster reminds us of. At over 12 feet high and a face only a mother could love, this incredibly large inflatable cannot be missed anywhere. This inflatable lights up, is weather resistant for years of use plus includes the tethers and stakes so there is stability. This is a great item if you are having a party and the theme is the “Monster Mash!”

Because this item is so very large, be sure to be aware of the dimensions before purchasing to be sure that this green gentleman will fit in the venue you desire to use it in.

The Day Halloween Started….

Before continuing on your journey of purchasing a Halloween Inflatable, take a few minutes to read this excerpt about this incredibly fun and fascinating holiday that has taken hold of the United States and many parts of the world. It is a day that has something for everyone. The candy, costumes, scary movies, trick or treating and the suspense of seeing the new costumes of the year. It is a holiday that many regard is the most fun day for children and adults alike who enjoy dressing up and displaying the creativity of this ghoolish day.

Back about 2,000 years ago, the Celtics inhabited a land now called Ireland, northern France and the United Kingdom. With the coming new year of November 1 at the time of harvest, a festival known as Samhain is celebrated. It was a time when the bounty was collected but death was imminent with it’s dark, cold, moist winter.

On the eve of November 1, it was thought that the spirits of the dead would arise back to earth and would cause damage an mayhem to all that had been worked for. During the celebration, the Celtics wore costumes mostly made of animals skins and heads.

After a couple of wars, Christianity had become prominent by the 800′s and many of the Celtic customs had been intertwined with the Christians. Fast forward to the European immigration to the United States. It wasn’t until the second part of the 19th century when America had a massive immigration, especially the Irish fleeing the great potato famine of 1846, that Halloween as we know it today, eventually took hold.

Trick-or-Treat

At this time American’s began wearing costumes, took to “trick or treating” (an English and Irish tradition of asking for food and money). Halloween eventually became a secular community holiday with over 6.9 billion dollars in sales and has become the second largest holiday in U.S. History, only second to Christmas.

Halloween doesn’t have to be an expensive day for the family. Be creative, make baked goods, have a party for your kids! The tradition of Halloween is part of Americana as much as any other holiday – be proud and make it, well, as scary as you can!
